The Craft of Research

What About the Reader?

Well, what about the reader?  Oh, right, they’re the reason I’m writing–not to pridefully say exactly whatever I want–I must make selfless adjustments to meet the reader’s interest.  Being excited and expecting the reader to be excited about words on a page (which, without some interest woven through the text’s personality, will appear as the dull, everyday garbage people see at school, work, or at home and indeedy-do take right out to the garbage (assuming grandma doesn’t want the crossword and funnies out of today’s paper).  All joking aside, “Reader! be interested in my work and I just might call you to action.” (Reader responds, “Yay, not just words on a page, but a calling!”) 🙂
